Subscribing, Purchasing, Canceling

Q. Can we try Copper before signing up?

A. Yes! We offer a 30 day trial on all of our subscriptions. You simply sign up with your credit card, and start using Copper. At the end of the 30 days your account is switched to a subscription account and your card is charged automatically. We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express cards.

You can cancel at any time by clicking on the link sent to you in your sign up email, or by emailing us at support@copperproject.com

We also offer a full-source licenced product which can be installed on your own server and customized to suit your needs. There is no trial available on self-hosted accounts.

Q. Can we install Copper on our own server?

A. Yes! We offer self-hosted options on request.

Q. Can I keep my trial or subcription data?

A. Yes. If you purchase a subscription during or after your trial, we simply convert your trial to a subscription and you carry on.

Self-hosted license customers can also export their database and import it to their local Copper.

Q. What are the System & Browser requirements?

A. Our hosted accounts simply require a current web browser. We recommend the latest versions of either Firefox, Chrome, Safari or IE8.

Licensed customers will require a server. Copper is suitable for Windows, Mac OS X, or Linux running the following:

  • Apache or IIS
  • PHP4.0 (Version 5.1.4 recommended)
  • MySQL (3.23.54+, Version 4.1.13 recommended)

Q. How many users will I need?

A. Every person that you allow to log in to your Copper will need an account, see our pricing page for more information on how many users are available for each account.

Q. Do you offer refunds?

A. Unfortunately, no we can not offer refunds under any circumstances. If you would like to try Copper you can take our free 30 day trial.

Q. How do I cancel my subscription?

A. You can cancel at any time by clicking on the link sent to you in your sign up email, or by emailing us at support@copperproject.com

You can cancel at any time, however we do not offer pro-rata refunds nor refunds on license purchases.

Q. Where is our data held? Is it safe?

A. We host with our friends over at MediaTemple, with dual-redundant servers, nightly backups, and offsite backups held in rotation for six months or longer. Copper itself is based on highly robust internet technologies. We've been offering the service for over ten years now and are proud of our vigilance and track record. See our Privacy Policy.

Q. Can my clients/subcontractors use it?

A. Yes! You set them up just like any other user, and restrict their privileges accordingly. This way they can log in and review progress, view uploaded concepts, and sign-off on work using task comments.

Q. Where can I find product support?

A. Visit the Copper Community or if you are a current customer with email support email us on the address provided when you purchased. Product support is often completed within hours, and we continue to strive for excellence in support attention. Email support is almost always quick and effective, and our Corporate and Premium customers receive even more fervent attention because they pay more. Yes we said it, sorry but they really do have a special place in our hearts.

A. We now have a community area dedicated to the exploration of new ideas and existing features, and take our development roadmap directly from what the customer base is most in need of.

Q. Is Copper available in other languages?

A. Yes, we can offer in a number of languages including Italian, French, Spanish, Chinese, Portuguese, Swedish, Polish. Contact us for pricing and more information.

Q. Can you install my Copper server license for me?

A. Yes. Installation is US$150 and we require either SSH access to your server, or a link to your hosting console (ftp/mysql access required).

If you are a subscription customer there is no installation fee, just the monthly subscription fee.

Q. Can I modify the software?

A. Yes. As a Copper licensee, you get access to the source code, db schema and documentation, and you get access to the Copper development community to request features and share common project management solutions.

The license we provide allows you to modify Copper for any purpose however you must not resell or distribute any part of the code without prior written approval. If you require customization, we have a modification team available.

Q. Is there an API available?

A. While Copper is itself offered in full-source and can be modified to suit your requirements, we recognise that some organizations require an API into a hosted project management service.We have options in this space for Premium customers.
