Hi Again
Is it possible when using sub-tasks that the budgeted and actual hours and pct complete roll up into the parent task?
Thanks

| Unfortunately no, the parent task has its own unique set of budget/actuals (its just like any other task). |

Can we put this in as a feature request? It is the same as rolling up eisting tasks to the project total - it is like being able to break the project into smaller projects, by using the tasks/subtasks feature.
Thanks |

Sure, will do.. What happens when you uncouple it though? Does it revert to that tasks original amounts, or are they zeroed out?
The project is a similar deal, it has its own notional start/end dates (that don't change when tasks are moved, even if the last task ends after the project date), but the budget is a function of the tasks underneath. |

True - the indent feature is very nice, and one could easily indent a series of tasks today and record time and comments, then decide to make them tasks the next day. This could get very messy....
I can see where we have an task that for various reasons as the project proceeds gives rise to other tasks (sub tasks) which we would want associated with the parent task...
I don't have a good answer for you on the uncoupling.... perhaps see what others think on the forum. |
