Is there a way I can grant clients access to view their project, but only see some tasks (such as milestones)?
We have standard now, but I dont like my client seeing all tasks. Is there a feature to limit tasks by user right that I am missing, or is this a feature in corporate?
We are trying to streamline client communications, by allowing them to see some project milestones w/ dates. This would be great as things change, copper would be updated for staff & clients.
thanks. |

Granting project access includes all tasks.
To grant single task access you allocate the user to a task via the task view/edit screen.
Adding another layer of complexity to the permissions system isn't desirable in the base build, but via customization we could add a bunch of controls to make this sort of thing possible (but I wouldn't want to be the one managing it) |

When I read the description of CORPORATE and it say “quick drill down” I take that to mean that it can handle different ‘levels’ of tasks.
If that is the case, we can give clients the level 1 access only which will just show the header and the total time we have allotted to elapse for each major step.
Is this correct? |

Hi Matt,
The levels of permissions are Clients, Projects, Tasks.
Check out the Admin movie in the Tour page of our site for a more complete description.
In Client and Project views, you can drill down to projects/tasks respectively. |

Got it. thanks.
So is editing a corporate users permissions more advanced than the standard users permissions?
I dont seem to have the same ease of use as the video for changing permissions.
is there a way to demo the corporate version? I dont want to switch without testing it first. |

Hello Matt,
Permissions in Standard vs. Corporate is based off the same functionality, but presented in a different design. With that said, the Admin menu in the Corporate edition is designed with improved ease of use in mind!
Yes, feel free to sign up for a 14-day Corporate trial on our Demo page. If it's a good fit and you decide to upgrade from Standard, all of your data will transfer over without a problem! |
