There needs to be an alert that all associated projects will be deleted when someone deletes a Client, ideally stating the Projects that are to be deleted with it.
Why?
Because someone deleted a Client when cleaning up the Client list, but had no idea there were any projects associated with it, and we basically lost very important budgeting data forever.
Not good, not good at all. |

| Just a warning to everyone - make sure your users have 'Read' access only to Clients and Projects, otherwise they can inadvertently delete a Client and the dozens of projects associated with it, with no warning that those projects are being deleted. |

This isn't true Neil.
When a user clicks delete for a Client or Project, they are presented with a NEW SCREEN (not just a Javascript warning) that says:
"You are attempting to delete the [Client/Project] [Name of client/Project] from the database.
Are you sure?"
Of course, all of the clients projects will be deleted when you delete a project, just as all tasks are removed from a project when you delete a project. Who would expect otherwise?
However if you want to be more specific for your users, you can even change the warning so that it says "Please be aware that deleting a client is not good, not good at all", but more seriously this is less Copper's fault than human assumption. |
