I want to grant file access to files attached to a certain project but if I set Write access on the User for Files the user can see all General files as well.
Hence, is it possible to grant access to project files without granting access to general files? |

Hi Niklas,
No, General Files are just that, company wide files that everyone might have access to (like an anonymous ftp address). If you have sensitive files you wish to obscure, place them in a project (e.g. "Administration"). |

Ok, thanks for your reply Ben, then I better understand how to use General Files. I then have an additional question.
We have users with no access to any clients. Still they have access to a number of projects connected to those clients. If I login as one of those users I can access files stored on the projects (as well as General Files according to your previous answer). However the only way to access the project files is by clicking at the link Projects, find the right project and then go to files. Under the link Files the tab Project files is empty. So is it necessary to have access to clients to be able to access the project files that way and there get a good overview of accessible project files? |
