I have not been able to find it in Corporate Addition and perhaps it is something that is going into the Enterprise Addition. I was wondering if Anyone has either requested or has built a group admin module. I am going to write one as soon as I finish getting through the code and getting a better upderstanding of how things work in Copper just didn't want to rewrite the wheel.

Has the topic ever come up of creating a area on these forums to share modules that people have written (if any) similar to plugins for Moveable Type? Is this of interest to others?

just curious

What I mean is to allow for some decentralized administration. Allowing a group member to be assigned as an admin to create a new user within their group. We have actually created the base module, as well as modified several other modules so that groups are their own islands. My organization is built and set up in a very decentralized way, in that every one of our divisions (marketing, IT and so forth) have clients that our ourselves as well as clients that are not ourselves. We wanted to be able to offload almost all of the admin work to the various divisions to allow them to be self managed and autonomous.

The admin account will now be used to create that first accounts and groups as well as police our license so that groupadmins are not creating more users than what we have purchased a license for. Otherwise the admin is not needed all that much with the modifications that we have made as well as plan on making to meet our needs in future revs.

Sounds great!

To be honest this hasn't been a highly requested item, but I can see the sense in it.

Keep us posted!

Is this the proper thread to ask how I can allow two different people to add new users? If there are three partners in a firm, or two managers, and they each want to see reports and manage users, how do they do so? Do they have to logout and login between their regular user accounts and the admin user account?

Most systems allow multiple admin users.

There's a difference between people not requesting new features vs having a low percentage of people who choose a certain new feature given a choice. Just because they don't specifically request a new feature doesn't mean they don't want it - it can either mean they accept it as a shortcoming or are waiting to come across other programs that do have it.

Hi Neil,

Granting write access to the admin module grants any user/group admin access.

Regards,
Ben.
