| Is it possible to obtain the source code of the flash timeline as we would like to make some customisations to this. If it is a third party component we would want to obtain the source from the makers |

I need more of an answer than that, is it a licensing issue? or money issue?
We have always been under the impression that all of copper could be customized, this is a pretty big let down if thats not the case. |

| It's a licensing issue, the flash timeline is licensed for use and doesn't include the source code (unlike everything else in Copper). If you have a spare six figures lying around we could provide it though. |

| What are your plans for modifications though? We will be making some changes in an upcoming release. |

We want to make the project timeline make better use of widescreen monitors and change milestones so they appear different visually.
While on the task assignment screen we want to show the number of hours current workload beside each user.
A big attraction for us to this system was that we would be able to make customisations ourselves, not have to wait until next release, or be at the whim of what is commercially viable for you. |

specifically looking at the FAQ on your website (what enticed us to buy) it says:
"As a Copper licensee, you get full access to the source code, db schema and documentation"
Not being able to access the flash source code seems like an exclusion to this. |

Not really an exclusion, the flash timeline is effectively a separate product that we license to show copper data. I do apologize but there's no way to provide this source code, we'll update this FAQ point to cover this off.
If we were to offer it the license cost would be 4-5 times what we currently price it at.
I know this is probably not what you wanted to hear, however we are extremely active on the development front, and can also provide modifications on request. |

well then it looks like we will have to kludge what functionality we can build into it, and curse Element for what we can't.
I am very disappointed that this limitation (or being a seperate product) was not mentioned upfront (in either the FAQ or the software license). |

I understand, I've already updated the FAQs, not many people have Actionscript coders on staff
But please, don't curse us out! We wouldn't be around if it weren't for you guys and we'll never forget it! Beers are on me if you're ever in town. |

since you are providing a language customization, the flash modules should have umlaut support. in the german version there are a lot of characters missing because the umlauts are not embedded in the flash text fields.
how about this issue? |
