I have a few modifications I would like to implement to Copper and would like to know whether I am able to run a test instance on the same domain it is licensed for ?
Imagine the live instance of copper is on www.domain_name.com/copper/
Ideally I'd like to run a second instance to test the code on www.domain_name.com/test/
Once the code has been tested and approved it would be incorporated into the live domain_name.com/copper/ instance.
The reason behind this is that I need any modifications to work with our specific hosting provider and emulating their particular server configuration on a local test environment is more or less impossible. Many of the modifications centre around email alerts and similar features so I need a live test environment with working mail handling, hence the request.
Once modifications have been incorporated into the live site the test site will be removed until such time as further modifications are requested by our directors.
Hopefully someone can shed some light on this and (even more hopefully) I won't be breaking any licensing agreements in the process. |
