Hi
Can someone tell us exactly what the "Restore" option does in the Administration/Backup option.
The reason I'm asking is due to corruption of information, we had to restore our copperhub database back to a previous backup (taken 2 hours prior), but it appears to have duplicated the information in our projects and not replaced the corrupted information.
This was discovered by doing another backup after the restoration and by looking at the backup file, we now appear to have duplicate entries in a number of the tables.
Can someone confirm whether the restore option replaces or adds to the existing data please.
Thanks

Hi Robert,
I think Restore might not be removing the existing data before adding extra data (sometimes used for merging accounts) get in touch with your db and we'll upload it as a fresh dataset.
We'll also check that in future this feature removes existing data before adding the backup data.

Thanks for confirming this Ben.
Can you please PM me with the details you need and I will source them for you.
As you can appreciate, this is somewhat urgent as the project database is constantly updated, and information has been recorded since we have discovered the duplication. We are now in a situation where we need to remove duplicated information prior to "restoring" the database again.
Yes, I can see a need for Merge functionality, but should this not be under a separate option.
Also, can you give us a timeline detailing when this functionality will be changed so we can cater for it in future please. |
