The online guide says:
To upload a new file, click New File at top-right of screen. Here you can create a file description, relate the file to a specific task, specify the file version, and finally Browse for a file to upload.
To check out a file (which prevents others from changing it), choose 'Check out' from the pulldown menu. Only the user that checked out the file or Administrators may check a file back in (either by selecting check in to keep the original, or selecting a replacement file).
I can't seem to be able to check a file back in once it's checked out, and don't seem to have version control other than by saving and renaming the file myself, then reuploading. Are these functions supposed to be available in the standard edition? |

Hi Veronica,
Can you describe the issue you're having? I can login to the standard.copperhub.com demo, upload a file to a project, select "check out" from the pulldown and it downloads to my desktop, then I select "check in" for that file, browse for the file on my desktop, and hit upload, and it checks back in.
The multiple version management is only available in Corporate/Enterprise however. |

When I select Check In next to the file I want to revise, the Files page reloads, but the Action menu still displays "Select..."
Then I select the file and open it. Make the change. Select Save As ... (Save is not an option) -- or I close the browser which prompts me to Save As ... Then I have to save it over the existing file on my desktop (unless I choose to rename in order to indicate the version).
But, when I return to the Files Page, I don't have the option to select "Check In" next to the file that I want to replace. If I upload the new version, then I have 2 files with the same name. Am I doing something wrong |

When you check in, you need to browse for the file and save the page, then the file is checked in.
I'm not sure I understand what you're doing here. Maybe get in touch and we'll work through it via email. |
